After School Picnic + Snack Ideas
Is it just our household or does everyone have kiddos that never. stop. eating?! I totally believe in growth spurts after having a 14 month old and an almost three and a half year old in the same house.
We have made the decision to stop giving the kiddos so many super high carb and processed foods recently. Emily's snacks used to be loads of crackers, pop-tarts, granola bars, etc. I know it's a little bit more work to cut fruits and veggies, especially to have them not be eaten sometimes, but after a little bit of consistency I have faith Emily won't even know the difference. I know this way of eating will help the babes' digestive systems too, huge bonus!
Today I packed Emily's PlanetBox lunchbox full of yummy fruits, a couple crackers, and some YumEarth organic fruit snacks! I know, I know, lots of fruit, but hey...at least she's eating it! I absolutely love these specific fruit snacks because not only are they organic but they're nut-free. That's a huge deal in our house since as far as we know, Emily still has a peanut allergy. Emily loves these fruit snacks too, so there you have it, a win-win!
One of our favorite things we own is our leather mat from Gathre. We take this mat everywhere with us and use it all the time! I'm actually in love with the leather carrying strap too. The carrying strap, to me, is a must have! There are so many amazing colors and patterns to choose from and I kid you not, you will use this mat inside, outside, in Target for your cart, on any trip, for picnics, just all the time. The options are endless plus they clean up so easily which is perfect because, who has time for that!? #momlife
For Emily's amazingly sweet and classic pinafore, shop here at LilyLily. I adore this pinafore. We will be wearing it this summer as well as into the Fall/Winter seasons, it's just so versatile and so easily adjustable for growth.
