Last year we tried something with only Emily to see how she liked it.  Once the weather broke we thought it would be fun to go camping!  Now, I'm not generally a camper whatsoever and I also know that in order to let your kiddos have fun and experience something new, you don't always have to A) spend a lot of money, or B) leave home.  Even though we as parents might feel like we need to shower our kids with material things, all they really want is our time.

I didn't want to spend unnecessary time packing everything up needed for camping at a campground, unpacking, setting it all up in order to stay one night (because let's be real here-I'm a one night only camper anyway!).  Last year we camped in our backyard and Emily LOVED it.  She thought it was just so fun, helped getting everything set up, and had a blast with no television!

This year, of course we've got little brother tagging along and wanting to do everything big sister does.  It's so so sweet and sometimes annoying to Emily, but hey, I can handle to fights between two toddlers... c'mon, who do you think I am!?

As you might imagine, trying to set up shop with two toddlers who refuse to stay indoors while Mama does this is challenging.  Brody kept wanting to take the stakes out of the ground and was moving everything everywhere.  Emily is asking 7,000 questions and wanting to help with things she can't really do and then getting sad about it.  BUT!... we all made it through and everything was set up just fine.  Of course once I had the tent up there was no keeping them out of there, so that's fine!  Whatever makes you happy, kiddos.

I learned last year that one of the most important things to have when you're camping, whether it be at a campground or just in your own backyard, are extra batteries!  I only brought one flashlight with me last year because I knew no one would fight over it and the stinking batteries went dead!  Like, c'mon!

This year I bought Walkie Talkies for the kiddos because I knew they'd be obsessed with them and it gets them to use their imagination instead of just being stuck staring at a tv!  You know I'm all about imaginative play!  I also have our radio with us that gives us some entertainment so they can sing and dance!

Well, all of those above mentioned necessities require batteries.  This is where I put my trust in Energizer® Ultimate Lithium™ batteries that I can easily pick up at Kroger.  I literally wouldn't be able to have as much fun as we have and keep our two toddlers entertained and happy without Energizer® Ultimate Lithium™ batteries!  They're just a lifesaver.  I love that Energizer® Ultimate Lithium™ batteries have a friggin 20 year shelf life, like, whaaaaaat!?  It totally makes sense that they're the longest lasting AA lithium battery after knowing that!  I tend to pack everything we use for camping up and store it together so knowing I can just toss a pack of leak resistant Energizer® Ultimate Lithium™ batteries in and they'll be perfect for the next time we camp is just so easy and convenient.  I sure hope it's not another 20 years that I wait to take them camping again, haha, but you never know!
